Message resources show what Studio tells the user during an operation. They help locate relevant code, choose test cases and compare regional builds, but do not explain every step the program takes. The tables cover all 335 layout entries and 265 standalone messages transcribed by the Collective. Exact keys, indices and attributes are in the key catalogue. The explanations here describe their meaning without reproducing Nintendo's full English messages. [1]
Reading a record
- Choose the layout or message namespace
- Resolve the decimal index and symbolic ID
- Read its attribute, substitutions and line breaks
- Render with the target build's font and layout
- Check the calling state before inferring behaviour
Both sets of indices start at 0000, so always specify whether an index refers to a layout record or a message. The raw Attr values are included, but the full meaning of their bits is still unknown. Do not assign enum names based only on a few matching examples. Blank text may be supplied at runtime, a test phrase may describe a designer's intended dimensions, and a sample number may be a placeholder rather than a limit. [1]
| Attribute seen | Examples in this transcription | Interpretation boundary |
|---|---|---|
0x01 | Single-letter controller labels, the centre birthday pattern, month and channel-number samples. | Used across different controls; not simply a numeric flag. |
0x02 | Browser text, many tool labels, ordinary keyboard keys and network-error paragraphs. | The value appears on both short labels and long text. |
0x03 | Several drawing/frame buttons, left/right choices, plain paste and generic proprietary-error entries. | The key and surrounding layout remain necessary. |
0x04 | Date/time and count examples, list ranges and page indicators. | Typical examples look numeric; that is an observation, not a decoded bit definition. |
0x05 | Many action buttons, headings and success prompts. | Not interchangeable with a universal button type. |
0x06 | Many explanatory prompts, option labels and tutorial text. | Also appears on some titles and values. |
0x07 | The mail-address display field. | A single observed use does not identify every possible meaning. |
0x08 | Help, camera-title and terms labels. | Keep the raw value until the relevant rendering code is established. |
0x09 | The keyboard's space-label slot. | Distinct from the 0x02 ordinary key entries. |
Formatting tokens and non-letter glyphs
The strings contain \n line-break markers and formatting substitutions. Preserve the number and type of arguments when translating or rebuilding a string; changing its placeholders can make the formatter read an argument as the wrong type. The table lists expected substitutions, but does not document the full calling convention of the original formatter. [1]
| Pattern | Use in the inventory |
|---|---|
%d | Integer error codes and the unread-note count; READ_TITLE_DAY uses two integer substitutions separated by a slash. |
%s | The GIF-export completion inserts the destination path. |
%ls | A discovered sender name and friend-removal name/ID values use wide-string substitutions. |
| Circled digits and symbols | Sticker groups use ①-④; controller, status and action positions contain characters such as ⑤, ⑦, ⑧, ⑨, ⑩, ⑪, ⑫ and ⑬. Pair the code points with the correct original font rather than replacing them with ordinary digits or assuming a desktop font shows the intended glyph. |
| Blank and repeated test text | Browser fields, headings, page labels and some controls begin empty. Repeated loading lines or test words are literal resource examples, not a measured number of operations. |
Layout bindings, covering indices 0000-0334
These rows cover the full layout index. Each prefix and range identifies specific keys in the catalogue, though some entries may not be used in every release. [1]
| Layout indices | Key or family | Meaning and caution |
|---|---|---|
0000–0001 | BackButton_* | Navigation back and saving have separate label bindings. |
0002–0007 | BirthDay_* | Birthday input separates day, month and year labels, its main and top headings, and the centre date. The top heading has an empty default; MM/DD/YYYY is the resource's example date order. |
0008–0011 | Browser_* | Three browser buttons and the subject field begin empty. They are fillable layout slots, rather than evidence that those controls do not exist. |
0012–0020 | Calendar_* | Separate entries hold the month, year and seven weekday names. Example values are month 12 and year 2008. The table's weekday ordering is Fri, Mon, Sat, Sun, Thu, Tue, Wed; look up the keys instead of treating table order as a weekday numbering convention. |
0021–0022 | ChannelButton_* | A channel or creator name is paired with a numeric field whose sample is 999999999. The sample does not establish a maximum count. |
0023–0025 | CommandSearch_* | A command field, instructional body and title describe button-sequence searches for Flipnotes, creators and channels. The field's ten A characters are sample layout data, not proof of an input limit. |
0026–0030 | ConfirmWindow_* | Centre, left and right confirmation buttons are independent bindings, with a test message and a creator-name field. Do not hard-code the default labels as the only choices that window can show. |
0031–0033 | DataBackup_* | The backup window offers a copy operation and describes copying all notes from System Memory to SD. Its action, body and title are separate resources. |
0034–0038 | DataDeleteButton_* | Bulk deletion can select all Flipnotes or the group bearing sticker ①, ②, ③ or ④. |
0039–0047 | DrawInfo_* | Drawing-screen hints name A, B, X and Y; display an example date of 12/24/2008; and distinguish advancing a page, opening the menu, playing and stopping. Play and stop use special glyph code points in the transcription. |
0048–0073 | DrawMenu_* | The drawing menu includes erase, draw and paint; ordinary Colour 1/2 controls and advanced Layer 1/2 alternatives; paper, light-box, frame copy and a Draft alternative; selection, cut/copy, paste, resize and flip. Modified advanced controls include Merge 2 and Merge 1. The modified selection slot at 0062 is empty. Exit, send and undo have their own entries. The labels distinguish normal, advanced and modified controls, but do not establish every input branch on their own. |
0074–0078 | FavoriteButton_* | The favourites panel has controls to add or remove a favourite, erase, add a star and display remaining stars. Its numeric sample is 9999; accompanying symbol characters depend on the correct font. |
0079–0088 | FootButton_* | Contextual bottom controls cover playing the list, details, editing, credits, sending, writing, an alarm and a Staff-labelled control. Repeated send/write bindings belong to different layouts; a label alone does not show that an unfinished feature is reachable. |
0089–0098 | FrameEditor_* | Frame editing separates erase, insert, copy and paste. Modified advanced entries distinguish erasing or copying Layer 1 versus Layer 2 and pasting into either destination layer. |
0099–0102 | HandSelect_* | The initial hand selector asks for the stylus hand, offers left/right choices and includes a short tapping instruction. |
0103–0109 | Information* | The information-window resources include a caution heading, two test bodies describing 22 letters across and 12 rows with top-left alignment, three button tests describing 12 letters across and a subject test describing 24 letters across. Treat these as resource-author layout test text, not measured universal limits for HTML or translated messages. |
0110–0118 | MainMenu_* | The title menu binds date/time, help, receiving from a creator, viewing, Hatena access and creating. Its examples are 00/00/2008, 00:00 and a Today's Notes count represented by XXX. The secondary Hatena text is blank by default. |
0119–0120 | MakeUgoMail_* | A letter-composition layout has one selector for a Flipnote and another for a recipient. These resource strings are evidence for the UI design; see unresolved behaviours before claiming complete mail support. |
0121–0128 | MemoFile_* | A file/list item can show folder name and range, previous/next navigation, an item number, sound, stars and subject. Samples include range 101-150, item number 9354 and star count 1234567; they are examples, not filesystem bounds. |
0129–0143 | MemoListTitle_*; MemoList_* | List headings can explain favourite channels and show creator, remaining memory, a dated subtitle, the service title and a month's total. Numeric samples use 99999; the dated sample is 12/24/2008 12:39. The page indicator is 000/000. Sort bindings include new items, popularity and new favourites, while two additional sort labels are question marks. A folder-selection control is separate. |
0144–0163 | MemoProperty_* | Details distinguish last-update time, storage used, current creator, original creator, identifier, read/download/star-related fields, erasing, sticker assignment and sending. Several labels or values intentionally start blank; example date and storage figures must not be mistaken for actual metadata. |
0164 | MenuButton_ButtonText | A separate menu button opens the account's posted notes. |
0165–0171 | Option1_* | One settings page has values and labels for username, Flipnote Studio ID and birthday, plus a blank page field. SUPER MARU ORANDO, 12345678901234567890 and 07/15/2001 are resource examples. In particular, the twenty-digit example is not the sixteen-hex-digit FSID specification. |
0172–0181 | Option2_* | Another settings layout offers left/right stylus hand, advanced-tool on/off controls and frog off/on controls. A page-number binding starts empty. The order of the on/off labels differs between the advanced-tool and frog choices. |
0182–0193 | Option3_* | Light-box depth has choices 1, 2, 3 and 4; operation sounds and starting on the calendar each have on/off choices. A separate page field is blank. |
0194–0197 | Option4_* | The maintenance page names backup, erasure, Flipnote Friends and sample notes as separate operations. |
0198–0206 | Option_* | An additional option-layout family has stylus-hand controls, sound on/off, note deletion and a username value. Do not assume every Option and Option1-4 family is visible together in every release. |
0207–0210 | PageCounter_* | Current page, maximum page, slash separator and label are distinct fields. The values 238 and 872 are layout examples; this resource does not set the application's frame limit. |
0211–0215 | PhotoEditor_*; PhotoFrame_* | Camera editing has blank cancel/accept text slots, a capture button, a blank date field and a Nintendo DSi Camera heading. |
0216–0220 | ReadMenu_* | The reading menu offers recent notes, calendar, System Memory, SD and the online service. |
0221–0225 | SaveMenu_* | Saving offers System Memory or SD and distinguishes save, save-and-exit and exit-without-saving. These actions must not be collapsed into one success condition. |
0226–0232 | SelectButton_* | Destination selectors distinguish System Memory, SD, a new-note copy, GIF export and an additional-options control. |
0233–0256 | SelectChannel_* | Eight channel slots each have an empty auxiliary field, a full-width number and a category title. Their meanings are new notes, caption writing, sound/music, camera, variations, illustration, animation and official Hatena material, in that order. Resource names are not proof that a replacement service must use those categories. |
0257–0262 | SendLock_* | Creator-lock selection distinguishes retaining editability versus locking. The onward action changes between finding a local recipient and submitting through Wi-Fi. |
0263 | SoftwareKeyboard_AddressText | The mail-address field has a sample alphabetic address ending .co.jp, with a line break. It is demonstration text, not an address to contact or a complete validation rule. |
0264–0309 | SoftwareKeyboard_Key01Text…Key46Text | Forty-six key-label slots cover digits, lowercase Latin letters and punctuation. Digits occupy keys 01-10, followed by minus and equals; QWERTY letters occupy 13-22; the next group has ASDFGHJKL and apostrophe; the lower alphabetic group has ZXCVBNM, then grave accent, full stop and slash. The final four slots contain semicolon, another grave accent, and square brackets. Key40 and Key44 both transcribe as a grave accent and remain distinct slots. |
0310–0311 | SoftwareKeyboard_SpaceText; SoftwareKeyboard_TitleText | Space has its own attribute value, distinct from ordinary key labels; the keyboard title identifies mail-address entry. |
0312–0315 | SoundEditor_*RecMessageText | Recording indicators are separate for BGM and sound-effect tracks 1, 2 and 3, even though their displayed status has the same meaning. |
0316–0317 | TitleLogo_* | The title-logo resources include Nintendo's 2008-2009 copyright notice and a blank version slot. The copyright line should not be used to date every installed ROM revision. |
0318–0319 | TopButton_* | Top-level controls distinguish the current channel from browsing all Flipnotes. |
0320–0326 | TutorialWindow_* | Tutorial balloons, postponement, next/accept and handedness labels are separate. Balloon 1 contains a test describing thirteen letters per line, five rows and left alignment; Balloon 2 starts empty. |
0327–0332 | UgoMemoMenu* | The online menu separates all notes, favourites, posted notes and posting. Its Hatena heading starts blank; a safety-related label refers to showing recommendations. This text does not define a recommendation algorithm. |
0333–0334 | WaitWindow_* | A wait window has a stop control and a three-line repeated loading sample. The three repetitions are resource text, not proof of three requests or a three-stage operation. |
Prompts and state messages, covering indices 0000-0264
These rows cover the full standalone-message index. Prompts with similar wording remain separate when their keys refer to a different storage medium, the sending or receiving console, or a different stage of an operation. A menu choice, progress update and completion notice describe three distinct steps. [1]
| Message indices | Key or family | Meaning and caution |
|---|---|---|
0000–0001 | BACKUP_COMPLETE; BACKUP_WARNING | Backup has a completion state and a preflight question warning that a large collection can take time. |
0002–0005 | BACK_BUTTON_TOP; BACK_TO_* | A menu/back label is separate from decisions to leave unsaved work, return to the DSi Menu, or save before returning to Studio's title screen. |
0006–0009 | BROKEN_NAND*; BROKEN_OPTION_000; BROKEN_PHOTO_000 | The client distinguishes a failed download that can be retried, corrupted System Memory requiring the console manual, corrupt profile information that will be erased, and an image that cannot be displayed. |
0010 | CALENDER_SD_CONFIRM | A note must be in System Memory to appear on the calendar. CALENDER is the original key's spelling; correcting it changes the identifier. |
0011 | COMMENT_FINISH | A successful comment/data transmission has its own completion prompt. |
0012–0016 | CONFIRM_BUTTON_* | Confirmation controls provide return, negative, acceptance, top-level navigation and affirmative choices as separate message IDs. |
0017–0023 | CONTRIBUTE_FINISH; DATA_BROKEN_* | A successful post is separate from data repair. Corruption prompts distinguish private save data, public save data, SD data and an unknown source; repair has a potentially long erasure wait and a completion message, with a warning not to switch off. |
0024 | DELETE_FRIEND | Friend removal names both a person and an ID through two %ls substitutions. Removing a friend is not the same operation as erasing their Flipnotes. |
0025–0028 | DELETE_MEMO; DELETE_SOMETHING; DELETE_WAIT_* | Two confirmation keys ask to erase a note. During removal, NAND warns against switching off; SD additionally warns against removing the card. |
0029–0030 | DRAW_FACE_FINISH; DWC_MESSAGE_0001 | Face-sketch sending has its own completion state. A Nintendo WFC message separately reports possibly missing internet configuration and directs the user to System Settings. |
0031–0032 | EULA_SELECT_* | Agreement and back navigation are distinct choices in the service-terms step. |
0033–0061 | FOOT_BUTTON_* | Contextual actions include cancelling; writing a comment or at a selected location; posting, including alternate and channel/current-location variants; moving to a chosen location or another SD folder; composing a letter; deleting/erasing; editing; opening terms, mail or other channels; calendar paste to this or another day; playing the collection; sending/replying; showing details; saving; searching; selecting (with a modified variant); and applying a symbol-marked sticker. The keys distinguish these routes even when several captions are the same short verb. |
0062–0063 | GIF_SAVE_000; GIF_SAVE_001 | The export choice separates a single animated GIF from a sequence of still GIFs. |
0064 | IMPORT_DSI_SOUND | A resource offers importing a selected sound. The key alone does not establish a fully implemented Nintendo DSi Sound interchange path. |
0065–0070 | INFORMATION_* | Information headings cover posting, erasing, local sending, saving, online terms/privacy and the decision to lock an upload. |
0071–0076 | LOAD_ERROR000…005 | Loading failures distinguish a general error, two corruption conditions, a read-only file requiring a filesystem-setting change, inconsistent creator information preventing a post, and an unreadable file. A creator-data rejection is therefore different from a network outage. |
0077 | MAIN_REMINDER | The main-screen reminder inserts a %d count of newly found notes that have not yet been viewed. |
0078–0080 | MASTER_TRAY_* | Entering advanced tools has a welcome prompt and separate L-button and R-button hints, consistent with handedness-dependent controls. |
0081–0084 | MEMO_FOLDER_*; MEMO_PAGE_* | Previous/next folder movement and previous/next page movement use distinct keys despite similar captions. |
0085–0092 | MENU_FOLDER_*; MENU_MODE_*; MENU_SELECT_FOLDER; MENU_SORT_* | The library distinguishes backup, normal and user folders, switches between a note list and the title screen, selects a folder, and offers newest-first or popularity ordering. |
0093–0097 | NDMEMO_DELETE000…004 | Bulk System Memory deletion can target every note or just sticker group ①, ②, ③ or ④. |
0098 | NETWORK_CONNECT | The connection setup state is distinct from an active transfer or a completed request. |
0099–0100 | NETWORK_ERROR; NETWORK_ERROR000 | Two keys provide the general internet-connection failure case and insert a numeric error code. |
0101 | NETWORK_ERROR001 | The access point is busy and a later retry is suggested. |
0102 | NETWORK_ERROR002 | No access point is within range; proximity is the indicated problem. |
0103 | NETWORK_ERROR003 | The console's network-services agreement has not been accepted in System Settings. |
0104 | NETWORK_ERROR004 | Wireless communication is disabled in the console settings. |
0105 | NETWORK_ERROR005 | No compatible access point was found; the configured connection should be checked. |
0106 | NETWORK_ERROR006 | The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector path could not connect. |
0107 | NETWORK_ERROR007 | A general configuration-related connection failure points to the console's internet settings. |
0108 | NETWORK_ERROR008 | A communication error ended an existing connection. |
0109 | NETWORK_ERROR009 | A communication error is reported without identifying a more specific cause. |
0110 | NETWORK_ERROR010 | The internet subsystem encountered an error for which a console restart is requested. |
0111 | NETWORK_ERROR011 | The service is unavailable or overloaded; the suggested action is to retry later. |
0112 | NETWORK_ERROR012 | The software's online service is described as discontinued. This is a separate message from temporary overload. |
0113–0114 | NETWORK_WAIT; NOPHOTO_WARNING | An in-progress communication warns against switching off. A separate camera-import warning reports that the DSi Camera album contains no photos. |
0115–0116 | NOSAVE_CONFIRM000…001 | Unsaved-note decisions distinguish quitting without saving from proceeding with another action despite unsaved changes. |
0117–0123 | OPTION_DELETE_* | Storage erasure has a destructive confirmation, separate System Memory and SD destination labels, medium-specific wait states, and completion states. SD completion additionally asks for removal and reinsertion of the card. |
0124–0128 | ORIGINAL_ERROR000…004 | The first proprietary-error key reports failure to gather data with %d for the code. The remaining four are generic numbered placeholders 001-004; their presence does not document four decoded error causes. |
0129 | OVER_1000_FILES | The backup-folder view warns that it can display no more than 1,000 notes. This is a display limit in that message, not a claim that the storage medium can contain only 1,000 files. |
0130–0135 | PASTE_LOWER_*; PASTE_*; PASTE_UPPER_* | Paste distinguishes merge-over and overwrite operations, with Layer 2 and Layer 1 target variants. The unqualified merge operation pastes over the top, while the unqualified overwrite entry is a plain paste action. |
0136–0139 | READ_SUBTITLE_* | Secondary list labels distinguish folders and letters; the month and total variants count Flipnotes. Here SUBTITLE means a UI subheading, not a caption track attached to an animation. |
0140–0143 | READ_TITLE_CALENDAR; READ_TITLE_CHANNEL; READ_TITLE_CONTRIBUTE; READ_TITLE_DAY | Library headings identify calendar, channel and posted notes. The day heading uses two %d substitutions separated by a slash; calendar context determines how those values should be supplied. |
0144–0149 | READ_TITLE_FAVORITE0…3; READ_TITLE_FOLDER; READ_TITLE_NAND | There are four sticker-group list headings, an SD-folder heading and a System Memory heading. |
0150–0158 | READ_TITLE_NEWS…READ_TITLE_UGOMAIL | Other contexts are mailbox, Mini Flipnote, recent notes, today's notes, SD, command search, starred notes, all notes and mail. These keys preserve distinctions between lists that a generic note browser might otherwise combine. |
0159–0160 | REPLY_FINISH; SAMPLE_CONFIRM | Reply transmission has a completion prompt; sample-note setup separately asks to copy the supplied examples into System Memory. |
0161–0165 | SAVE_ERROR000…004 | Saving distinguishes an unspecified System Memory failure, insufficient System Memory, an unspecified SD failure, insufficient SD space and a general save failure. These are storage-result categories, not proof that a preceding encode step succeeded. |
0166–0168 | SAVE_GIF_* | GIF export warns before a potentially long operation, warns against power or SD removal while writing, and inserts the output location with %s on completion. |
0169–0174 | SAVE_TARGET_*; SAVE_WAIT_* | Save destinations include a new-note copy, GIF, System Memory and SD. NAND and SD have separate wait messages; the SD warning also mentions card removal. |
0175–0176 | SDK_ERRORTYPE_BADAUTHORNAME; SDK_ERRORTYPE_BADNAME | Submission may reject the current or original creator's name, or reject the console username used for Hatena. The latter prompt requests a change through System Settings. They are distinct author-name and account-name cases. |
0177–0178 | SDK_ERRORTYPE_FSRESULT_* | One SDK filesystem message maps an absent/unusable medium result to SD-save failure; another identifies insufficient destination resources. The user-facing message is less specific than the symbolic enum in the first case. |
0179–0183 | SDMEMO_DELETE000…004 | Bulk SD deletion has separate choices for all notes or sticker groups ①-④, paralleling the System Memory group. |
0184–0187 | SENDLOCK_CONFIRM_* | Sending confirmation distinguishes general data, a face sketch and a reply/replay-labelled operation, under its own confirmation title. Preserve the original REPLAY spelling rather than inferring an unrelated video replay feature. |
0188–0192 | SEND_CHILD_* | The receiving side distinguishes cancellation, an active receive, discovery of a named sender through %ls, failure and success. |
0193–0197 | SEND_FINISH; SEND_PARENT_CANCEL; SEND_PARENT_CHANGE_LOCK; SEND_PARENT_CONFIRM; SEND_PARENT_CONNECT | The sending side has generic completion, cancellation, a creator-lock recommendation, confirmation after finding a recipient, and an active-send wait. Discovery is not the same as transfer completion. |
0198 | SEND_PARENT_EULA | Before local sending, the text assigns responsibility for permission to transmit images, music and other included material. It warns that recipients or others can edit, resend or publish an unlocked note, and points to the help section about sending. |
0199–0204 | SEND_PARENT_FAILURE…SEND_PARENT_WAIT | Remaining sender states distinguish transfer failure, scanning for another DSi, a locked note that is viewable but not editable, successful delivery, discovery timeout and the instruction that the recipient should wait on Studio's title screen. |
0205 | THEATER_CONFIRM | Entering the theatre identifies an online-service boundary: the following service is supplied by Hatena rather than being the offline Studio editor. |
0206–0212 | TUTORIAL_BUTTON*; TUTORIAL_CONFIRM* | Tutorial controls separately provide advancing, acceptance, negative and affirmative choices. Handedness confirmations distinguish right from left and note that the setting can later be changed. |
0213–0219 | TUTORIAL_MESSAGE000…005 | Onboarding introduces the app, asks preliminary questions about stylus hand and birthday, distinguishes creating from viewing, introduces direct drawing, and offers the drawing tutorial. |
0220–0225 | TUTORIAL_MESSAGE010…015 | Drawing instructions introduce the blank Touch Screen, rightward D-pad page turning, A/Y page shortcuts and opening the tool menu. Separate prompts refer to up on the D-pad and the X button. |
0226–0230 | TUTORIAL_MESSAGE020…040 | Tool exploration can return with Back or the frog. Saving is introduced at the lower right, initially to System Memory, before leaving through Exit. |
0231–0235 | TUTORIAL_MESSAGE050…063 | The viewing tutorial enters the local library, chooses System Memory, treats each square as a note, plays the selection, and distinguishes Details from Edit. |
0236–0240 | TUTORIAL_MESSAGE070…090 | The remaining introductory path encourages exploration, explains that Help covers animation, offers a skip confirmation and points back to Help for problems. |
0241–0243 | TUTORIAL_MESSAGE090_01; TUTORIAL_MESSAGE090_02; TUTORIAL_MESSAGE091 | An advanced-tools invitation describes the Settings control at the upper right and Advanced Tools on settings page 3, then ends the tutorial. The page reference belongs to this message resource; other layout families may organise settings differently. |
0244–0251 | VER2_WELCOME_* | The version-2 return path welcomes existing users, recommends advanced tools with separate L/R hints, promotes easier online browsing/posting and suggests copying sample notes from Settings for new users. |
0252–0254 | WARNING_BAD_FILE; WARNING_BAD_FILE_DELETED; WARNING_CLEAR_ALL | Corrupt-note handling announces erasure and then completion. Clearing every page of the current edit is a separate destructive confirmation. |
0255–0259 | WARNING_DISABLE_WIRELESS…WARNING_MARK_LIMIT | Warnings separately identify wireless being off, nearly full System Memory with SD as an alternative, the working note's size limit requiring saving or page removal, an unusable object in the SD slot and a limit on assigning the selected sticker. |
0260–0264 | WARNING_NOT_CREATE_CONFIG…WARNING_WRITE_PROTECT_SD | The final warnings distinguish an unreadable SD card, lack of room for a management file, parental restrictions configured in System Settings, a question about reopening internet communication and a write-protected SD card that must be unlocked after removal. PRENTAL in WARNING_PRENTAL_CONTROL is the original identifier spelling. |
Every individual record
For every one of the 600 records, these tables include its layout/message group, index, symbolic ID, raw attribute and whether its default text is empty. Every non-empty record has an explanation, with similar failures and actions distinguished by context. The formatting column lists substitution arguments in order, explicit line-break counts and special-symbol code points; the target build's font still determines how those glyphs fit on screen. Sample numbers and keyboard characters are included where their exact values matter. [1]
Using messages to design a compatibility test
- Select a message family tied to a known state, such as
SAVE_ERROR,LOAD_ERRORorSEND_CHILD. - Keep filesystem, network and UI failures separate: a name/provenance rejection should not be reported as a failed access point.
- Record the build and input that reached the message. Resource presence alone cannot prove that a branch is reachable.
- Verify both the successful and unsuccessful paths, including medium removal, cancellation and unsaved-work decisions.
- Compare glyphs, substitution types and line wrapping without replacing original key names or treating test values as hard limits.
